Client Agreement

Session time

Our sessions will be at the same time each week, either weekly, or biweekly, or fornightly, depending on our arrangement. If you ever need to meet via Zoom, please let me know.

Fee and payment details

The agreed session fee is due after each session or at the end of each month, depending on our arrangement.
I reserve the right to review fees from time to time but no more than once in any 12-month period.

Holidays

A minimum of 48 hours (2 days) notice is required before each break, although more notice is encouraged.  I will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible in advance of my absences, and ask you to do the same, so we can manage any potential impact on the therapy.

Cancellations

For cancellations with less than 48 hours (2 days) notice, there will be the full session fee.
If you ever need to change the day/time of the session due to travel or illness, please let me know before 48 hours notice and I will try to offer an alternative session time for that week.

Confidentiality

This is a very important aspect of the counselling relationship. Everything that is discussed in the counselling session is kept in the strictest confidence.

As part of my professional qualification, I am bound by the UKCP, HCPC and BPS code of ethics. I am required to have regular supervision and discuss my work with a supervisor on a frequent basis. However, I will not disclose your full name nor anything that would enable you to be identified.

Cases of emergency when I may need to break confidentiality would involve imminent risk to your life and safety, or imminent risk for the life and safety of another individual, adult or child.

Endings

Our work is open-ended and may be long-term, however If you feel that you want to end the relationship, it is important that you are able to talk to me about the situation first. I recommend that we have at least 3-4 additional sessions before our work concludes. Often more time devoted to the ending would be recommended.

Privacy and data protection

I collect and use personal information so that I can respond to enquiries, provide therapy, keep appropriate clinical records, manage appointments and payments, meet legal and professional responsibilities, and practise safely and ethically.

My full privacy notice explains what information I collect, how I use it, where it is stored, how long I keep it, when information may need to be shared, your data protection rights, and how to raise a concern about how your information has been handled. You can read the full privacy notice via the footer of this website.
